John De Mott, DO

John De Mott, DO is a Board Certified Psychiatrist and psychoanalyst joining the University of Washington SPIRIT Center as a trainer. He completed his psychiatry residency and fellowship in community psychiatry at Case Medical Center in 2017 and 2018, respectively, and went on to complete his psychoanalytic training at the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center in 2021. His clinical formation spans both the rigorous science of psychiatric medicine and the depth-oriented tradition of psychoanalysis, giving him a uniquely integrative perspective on serious mental illness and recovery.

Since completing his residency, Dr. De Mott has dedicated his career to Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT), a model of care he is deeply passionate about. He began his PACT work in Cleveland, Ohio, where he also gained experience with Assisted Outpatient Treatment, before relocating to Seattle in 2021 to join IKRON’s PACT team, where he continues to practice today. His sustained commitment to this intensive, community-based model reflects his belief in meeting people where they are and supporting their autonomy and dignity throughout the recovery process.

Dr. De Mott is particularly interested in the creative and dynamic dimensions of lifelong recovery, and in the ways that mental health treatment can serve as a foundation for more just and equitable social systems. As a trainer at the SPIRIT Center, he brings both clinical depth and a genuine enthusiasm for collaborative, community-centered care.
